Pssst…Rumor Has It: Ms. Marissa was consumed with the Social Media Conference 2011 her organization, Columbia College Chicago P.R.S.S.A, held recently but the understated cognac colored tie-up Booties she sported were screaming, “I KNOW YOU SEE ME”…and we did! Word is she “found” the Deena & Ozzy Boots at an unbelievable price of $19.99!! 0_o However, our Shoe Snob on a Budget couldn’t find that bargain anywhere. What we did find were a few alternatives in case you wanted to pinch a little from Marissa’s comfort chic style.

Let’s begin with an exercise to answer that question. Think of Kenneth Cole, Inc and blurt out the first word that comes to mind. What was it? (seriously tell us below) Surprisingly, I was opinion-less. Though I own at least two pair of Kenneth Cole’s I can’t find, describe or fake an emotional connection to the brand. Sad? Quite the contrary.

MSN Money reported that Sam Poser (guy in the pic without the of yellow shoes) of Sterne, Agee, Leach downgraded Kenneth Cole, Inc to “Neutral” from “Buy in the stock market and shares in the company dropped to $11. Poser’s unfriendly chess move came with valuable focus advice for the company. There is a gap between “what the company believes its brand is and what the consumer believes it is.” The retailer also depends too much on its department store business, particularly Macy’s, Poser added.

Kenneth Cole is the same innovative company that started it’s brand by selling over 40,000 pair of shoes in two days out of a fake production truck! These rock stars can surely bounce back from this better than Kim Kardashian after that boring ass sex tape. (*rolls eyes* I digress) Kenneth Cole is in a position to make you and I fall in love and understand the brand. Consumer trust and product quality are in tact. However, my desire for the brand fizzled with my infatuation for Fossil watches back in 2001. If you want my emotional connection, stock prices to increase and ratings to soar, answer these questions correctly.
